Drakensberg / Zulu Village #3

Meeting a Zulu Family & Friends

On Saturday we have been on an authentic tour to a Zulu Village with our Tourguide named Cedric Hlongwane (Tel. 0787392904, umphafatours@gmail.com) But before we got there, we met up at the local supermarket (SPAR) to buy some groceries for the BRAAI later at the Zulu Family. We decided to buy a few more things which we would give to the poor family. Then he took us to a school for disabled children where we played some football with them. The kids were very happy, because we brought almost 200 Lollipops :-)
In the afternoon we arrived at the Zulu family where the boys were preparing a fire for the BRAAI and the women a Zulu dish. We had a short visit at the Saugoma (Healer)... she told us she had spent 2 days at a river and talked to a mermaid... total bullshit if you ask me, but then she lit up some candles and spoke to her ancestors, who told her that we should donate R50 or R100... and what do you think did we spend that money?? ... Of course we did, haha... Even our Tourguide was talking about a mermaid he would love to see, but we couldn't figure if he was joking or not :D
Well after all that "hocus-pocus" we got back to the Zulu family and had a nice BRAAI, lots of meat, salad and "Bup". Keep in mind that we ate the food without any forks or spoons even the salad ;-)
By the end they tought us how to dance, enjoy the small video where I perform the Zulu Dance for you.
